Every 3.5 seconds 1 human die; 7 to 9 million people each single year caused by sepsis.
Sepsis is a life-threatening illness caused by your body’s response to an infection. Everybody can get sepsis caused by infection connected with different types of microorganisms as bacteria, viruses, funghi or parasites. Sepsis can lead to shock, multiple organ failure and death, if not treated with antibiotic therapy immediately.
Some groups of humans have a higher risk as newborns and babies, older people and immunocompromised ones.
On September 13th, the global sepsis alliance will further spread awareness of sepsis with celebrating the world sepsis day.
